Grow Your Own Whitworth Art Garden - Ox-Eye Daisy

Ox-Eye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) seeds, hand-packed by Thomas Setty Seeds.

A common, but attractive wildflower, the Ox-Eye Daisy is similar to the Daisy but has larger flowerheads (up to about 6cm across). Its large blooms appear from July to September and are so bright that they appear to 'glow' in the evening, hence the other common names of 'moon daisy' and 'moonpenny'.

Part of our ‘Grow Your Own Whitworth Art Garden’ collection, when in season, the Ox-Eye Daisy can be spotted in our garden at the back of the gallery, where they thrive in moist borders and light shade.
